Khalid Mallick, P.E.
PRESIDENT & CHAIRMAN
Khalid Mallick founded Techno Consult in 2001 and is currently the President. With 30 years of experience, Mr. Mallick’s has led Techno to be recognized as a leading small-medium size Construction Management and Civil Engineering services firm in the North East. Mr. Mallick leads the firm’s overall financial management, business development, and client / professional service relations.
Prior to establishing Techno, Mr. Mallick had over 20 years of experience and a Senior Manager in Charge of Project Controls for Bovis Lend Lease on several projects. He also spent time as a Project Manager/Construction Manager for Terminal Construction Corporation and IT Corporation (previously, Shaw Environmental, Inc., now CB&I).
Mr. Mallick holds a M.S. in Construction Management from the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT); He also completed a BS in Civil Engineering from NED University of Technology and Engineering in Karachi, Pakistan. Mr. Mallick is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Washington, DC.
Wallace caban, P.E., ccm
SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT
Wallace Caban, PE, CCM joined the firm as Senior Vice President in 2019 based out of their New York City office location. Wallace (Wally) leads Techno’s Aviation, Rail & Transit capabilities and portfolio across the Northeast Region and brings over 40 years of construction industry experience and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Techno.
Prior to joining the firm, he most recently served as the Chief of Construction for the Port Authority’s Construction Management Division. The Division was comprised of approximately 500 professional employees responsible for overseeing the rehabilitation and construction of facility improvements and state of good repair projects at each of the Agency’s multiple Facilities which included six (6) of the major airports (John F. Kennedy, LaGuardia, Newark, Teterboro, Stewart and Atlantic City International airports); four bridges (George Washington, Goethals, Bayonne and Outerbridge Crossing); two tunnels (Lincoln and Holland); three bus and transportation terminals; a PATH Railway System, multiple cargo terminals and ports in both New York and in New Jersey.
His most recent accomplishment was the on-site coordination of activities required to ensure the successful completion of the Bayonne Bridge Raise the Roadway Project which opened the New York Kill Van Kull navigational channel to Port Newark and Port Elizabeth for larger shipping freighters on June 8, 2017.
Wally holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the Newark College of Engineering (NJIT), is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of New York, and a Certified Construction Manager with CMAA.
Prakash Donde, P.E., DBIA
SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT
Prakash Donde, PE., DBIA, joined the firm as Senior Vice President in 2017 and leads Techno’s Tunnel and Design-Build capabilities across the northeast region, among other states. Mr. Donde has 36 years of professional experience in the planning, design, and construction management of highway, transit, water and wastewater tunneling and infrastructure projects. Mr. Donde will also oversee Business Development efforts for Water and Waste Water Projects.
Prior to joining Techno, Prakash served as President of Jenny Engineering Corporation (COWI Tunnel) which specialized in underground engineering projects. During his career with Jenny (COWI), he served as project manager of several design projects and managed many construction management projects. Signature Projects include Metros in Washington, Los Angeles, SF, NY, Taipei, and Singapore and several highway tunnel projects. He also worked on major water and wastewater projects such as NYC Water Tunnel no. 3, Anacostia River Crossing, and others.
Mr. Donde holds a BS and MS in Structural and Geotechnical Engineering. Prakash is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of New York, and eight other states. Additionally, he is a certified member of DBIA He is a member of the Moles and Fellow of ASCE. Additionally, Mr. Donde is considered to be a thought leader in the Tunneling industry, having been awarded “Leader of Industry award” by NYC’s Concrete Industry Board in 2015.
Farhan Syed, P.E.
Senior VICE PRESIDENT
Mr. Farhan Syed joined the firm as Vice President in 2017 and leads Techno’s Vertical Construction and Building Market Sector. Farhan has over 25 years of professional experience in the planning, design, and construction of major facility and infrastructure projects, in both the public and private sector. Additionally, he will be overseeing the Operations for Techno’s Buildings and Infrastructure markets across New York and New Jersey.
Prior to his decision to join Techno, Farhan served as the Vice President for Construction Programs for the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA). In this position with NYCHA, Farhan was responsible to lead NYCHA’s Capital Project Division (CPD) project management teams in managing a wide range of construction projects in the agency’s Capital Plan from inception to completion. Prior to his tenure with NYCHA, Farhan served as a Vice President at HAKS, where he managed a portfolio of multiple facility and infrastructure projects for various City and State agencies.
Farhan holds a BS in Civil Engineering and received his MS in Civil Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology. Farhan is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of New York.
Suriel Zayas, PMP, ENV SP
VICE PRESIDENT
Mr. Suriel Zayas joined Techno in 2023 and is currently a Vice President based out of Techno’s New York City office. Suriel will be leading Techno's transportation pursuits and project management/delivery - from inception to completion.
Prior to joining Techno, he worked with Paco Group. Suriel's expertise in construction management, engineering, and construction inspection services spans over 35 years. His skill set includes the rehabilitation of trunk and distribution water mains, street reconstruction, bridge, highway, airport, and tunnel construction, as well as vertical construction and restoration. Suriel's career in construction management began with the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT), where he worked on numerous projects at the Gowanus Expressway. His work on the reconstruction of Fulton Street for the New York City Department of Design and Construction (NYCDDC) remains a highlight of his career. This project is one of the busiest corridors and transit hubs in Lower Manhattan, connecting pedestrians from the east side to the World Trade Center on the west side. Suriel has established a respected reputation in various public agencies in New York City, including the NYC DDC, NYCDOT, NYCHA, NYCDEP, NYCEDC, SCA, MTA Transit, DASNY, MTA B&T, and The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
Mr. Zayas holds B.S. in Civil Engineering and an MBA in Engineering Economics from New York University (NYU). He is also a certified PMP and ENV SP.
Zubia Mallick, P.E.
VICE PRESIDENT
Ms. Mallick joined Techno in 2016 and is currently a Sr Vice President where she leads Techno’s Operations across Resident Engineering Inspection Services and Design Engineering Services for our Infrastructure Market Sector. As a part of her role, she manages the day to day operations encompassing project management, performance of project budgets, schedules, and quality control. Additionally, she helps lead the development and implementation of Techno’s Strategic Plan, as well as overseeing company-wide strategic initiatives.
Prior to joining Techno, Ms. Mallick was a Senior Civil Design Engineer at WSP|Parsons Brinckerhoff, where she was involved with large scale design projects such as NJTransit’s County Yards, MTA’s Rehabilitation of the Canarsie Tube, and LIRR’s Vanderbilt Yard Reconstruction. Through these experiences, she has gained an extensive background in Civil Design Engineering for Rail, Transit and Major Transportation projects.
Ms. Mallick holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Rutgers University - Schools of Engineering, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Bharat Parekh, P.E., ENV SP
VICE PRESIDENT
Mr. Bharat Parekh joined Techno in 2022 and is currently a Vice President based out of Techno’s New York City office. Bharat helps lead design related pursuits and project management/delivery - from inception to completion.
Prior to joining Techno, Bharat spent over 43 years working on Program/Project Management in design and construction of infrastructure portfolio to our firm. He has dedicated more than 28 years of professional expertise to New York City as Director of Bridges (NYCDOT - Bureau of Bridges) and as Senior Project Executive (NYCDDC - Division of Infrastructure). With NYCDOT - Division of Bridges, he oversaw a program of about $800 million (about 60 bridges in various phases of design and construction). With NYCDDC - Division of Infrastructure, he oversaw a program of about $460 million consisting of various pedestrian bridges, retaining walls, step streets, plazas, waterfront structures, etc. Bharat is familiar with the standards and procedures of NYCDDC, NYCDOT, NYCDEP, NYCDPR, DSNY, MTA C&D, NYSDOT, FHWA,etc.
Bharat holds a Masters in Structural Engineering from City College in New York City and is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of New York.
adeel Mallick
VICE PRESIDENT
Mr. Mallick joined Techno in 2014 and is currently an Vice President based out of Techno’s New York office. Mr. Mallick helps lead Strategic Initiatives and Corporate Development efforts across various markets and sectors, specifically in Maryland and Massachusetts.
Prior to joining Techno, Mr. Mallick was an Associate in the Public Private Partnerships (P3) Advisory Group at CH2M Hill, where he was involved with advising Government Agencies and Private Equity Firms/Developers on Private Equity Infrastructure Investments. Mr. Mallick has also previously held positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as a Management Consultant.
Mr. Mallick holds an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) - Sloan School of Management and a BS in Civil Engineering from Rutgers University - School of Engineering, where he graduated Cum Laude.
