Project Scope

The project includes installation of six (6) MW Interim Generator System including fuel oil lines and electrical connections, replacement (including demolition) of existing gas turbine generators with 7.5MW diesel generators, replacement of existing 350KW black start generator with new 650KW black start generator, installation of 5kV metal clad emergency switchgear, all modifications required for 5kV and 27kV Substation and installation of new control system. 

Detailed Project Duties and Responsibilities: 

Techno has provided CM Services including Assistant Resident Engineering and Inspection services for the project which includes upgrade of the Emergency Back-up Generation facility at 26th Ward WWTP located in Brooklyn, NY. Responsibilities included field inspection, field progress reports and records, project controls, scheduling, change order management, permit management, monthly construction payment and startup & commissioning sequence. Analyze risk exposure on a monthly basis using variances and exceptions, review contractor’s claims and study/perform delay analysis. Enforcing Electrical Codes (NEC 2011), NYC Electrical Code & Regulations using NFPA-70E to achieve Quality Generation. Coordination with Con-Edison and Plant Operations to schedule power outages in order to tie in new system into existing utility set up. 

In addition, working on complex reconstruction of a plant hydraulic regulator structure, associated demolition work and foundation work.
