Techno is seeking an experienced  Civil Inspector  with a focus on freshwater and reservoir projects to join our team in Yonkers, NY. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction and inspection of civil infrastructure, ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance with safety regulations.

Job Description:

  • Oversee the construction of freshwater and reservoir infrastructure, ensuring adherence to design specifications and safety standards.

  • Conduct site inspections for the installation of critical water containment systems, including reservoirs, storage tanks, and other related facilities.

  • Inspect the quality of concrete placement, rebar installation, and finishing of structural components.

  • Review and analyze project blueprints, technical specifications, and construction materials to verify compliance with engineering standards.

  • Monitor contractor performance to ensure work aligns with project specifications, safety standards, and contractual obligations.

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve technical issues and keep the project on schedule.

  • Provide detailed reports on site conditions, work progress, and any discrepancies to the project team.

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations, conducting safety inspections as needed.

  • Participate in the approval process for concrete mix designs, materials, and rebar placement.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in civil engineering or construction management, specifically related to freshwater, reservoir, or similar infrastructure projects.

  • OSHA Certifications (up to date) required.

  • ACI Certification (Concrete Field-Testing Technician – Grade I or higher) preferred.

  • Experience with underground storage systems, pump stations, or water treatment plants is a plus.

  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply engineering blueprints and project documents.

  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate records and documentation.

  • Ability to travel to multiple inspection sites as required.

  • Experience with projects involving the NYCDDC or NYCDEP is a plus.
