Techno is seeking a Civil Inspector to join our dynamic Construction Management team. The successful candidate will have exceptional communication and technical writing abilities, adept team support skills, and familiarity with state construction and fire codes, alongside a comprehensive understanding of construction methods.

Job Description:

  • Follow safety guidelines, participate in pre-task planning, and report any safety issues or concerns to management.
  • Perform outdoor, all-season field tasks, including but not limited to inspecting geotechnical borings, installing Support of Excavation (SOE), performing excavation activities, and constructing structures.
  • Develop field and engineering reports and logs, maintaining comprehensive logs.
  • Document inspection findings, maintain organized records, and prepare detailed reports.
  • Perform thorough inspections of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing installations on various construction sites.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory standards, building codes, and safety protocols.
  • Evaluate technical documents, blueprints, and schematics, ensuring understanding of specifications.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, with potential for overtime and weekend assignments.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of experience within a similar role in the construction industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with builders, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Previous experience in pump stations and wastewater treatment plants.
  • Given the multiple inspection sites involved in this assignment, candidates must be willing to travel as necessary.
  • Previous experience in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) is preferred.
  • Ability to perform field tasks and activities.
  • Self-driven individual with a strong sense of motivation.
  • Experience with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Possession of valid professional certifications (e.g., NICET, ICC) will be viewed as highly beneficial.
