Techno is seeking anElevator Engineerto join our project team in Jersey City, NJ. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing elevator/vertical transportation design documents for tenant projects (TAA) and design audit, and project processing to ensure compliance with applicable building codes and client technical standards.

Job Description:

  • Download the electronic TAA submissions, preview construction documents, analyze and review drawings, calculations, specifications, specifications, and reports for completeness with codes and standards.

  • Coordinate the review of comments from others technical disciplines and prepare memoranda for transmitting comments to the line departments.

  • Attend meetings with tenant Architect/Engineer of Records to discuss the review comments and resolve the issues

  • Communicating with client facilities to process TAA and design audit projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, or a closely related field.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of diverse experience in building elevator/vertical transportation codes and system design.

  • Proper understanding of mechanical/elevator disciplines related to building design and construction of transportation and related facilities.

  • Knowledge of applicable construction codes, Safety Code for Elevator and Escalator Code, ASME A17.1, ASME A18.1, ASME 90.1, and their reference standards in New York City, New York State, and State of New Jersey.

  • Strong and effective communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Comfortable acting as liaison between Client Tenants & Facilities and in-house application reviewers to ensure smooth workflow.

  • Comprehensive computer skills, proficient in MS Suite, and ability & interest to learn various in-house and external software (Share Point, eBuilder, etc.). 

  • A professional engineer’s license in the State of New York and/or New Jersey is preferable.
