NYSDOT Asphalt Pavement Resurfacing, NY27, Region 10

Techno Consult, Inc. has been selected as the prime consultant providing expert construction inspection services for the NYSDOT Region 10 asphalt pavement resurfacing project along
NY27 (Sunrise Highway) in the Town of Islip, Suffolk County. This $10.98 million project encompasses resurfacing the Sunrise Highway’s south and north service roads and mainline
stretches between Manor Lane, Brentwood Road, Nicolls Road, and Pond Road, delivering an improved, safer, and longer-lasting roadway for motorists over the next decade.

Techno Consult leads all technical responsibilities, including daily contractor oversight, onsite materials testing, quality assurance, field inspections, and detailed documentation in
compliance with NYSDOT’s Manual of Uniform Record Keeping (MURK), Site Manager, and EBO systems. Our team ensures strict adherence to construction specifications, proactive issue resolution, and close coordination with stakeholders to achieve timely project delivery.

Techno has committed to achieving the 20% Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation goal, engaging qualified DBE subconsultants for specialized services to promote equitable contracting opportunities and enhance project execution capacity.

All personnel on the project are OSHA 10-Hour certified, with specialized training in Work Zone Traffic Control (WZTC), Portland Cement Concrete testing (ACI), and painting operations (AMPP/NACE/SSPC). Inspectors ensure rigorous adherence to contractor safety protocols, traffic management, and environmental controls to maintain public and worker safety throughout project delivery.
