NYCDEP Wards Island WWTP Chemical & Petroleum Bulk Storage Facilities Upgrade
The Chemical & Petroleum Bulk Storage Facilities Upgrade – Wards Island WPCP (Residuals Handling Facility) will process for ultimate disposal of the solid waste materials left over from the city’s wastewater treatment plants. It is being built at the Wards Island Water Pollution Control Plant, which is centrally located to other DEP facilities.
Construction Services include overall construction management, technical direction and coordination, and project administration for the following construction activities:
- Installation of a 180’ x 90’ x 40’ high sprung structure
- Cast-in-place concrete grade beams and slab
- Electrical duct bank and distribution system
- Building lighting system
- Five wet scrubbers for odor control
- Building odor control and ventilation system
- Start-up and testing
- Contaminated soil remediation
- Roadways, grading and landscaping
- Resident engineering inspection
- Construction management of Four Wicks Law contractors
- Operational support services
- Review of the contractor’s submittals
- Project cost control
- Change order control and claims management
- Progress monitoring and schedule control
- Preparation of field change orders
- Processing contractor payments
- Preparation of delay analyses and claim reports
