NYCDEP Upstate Watershed Miscellaneous Projects

The New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) under CRO-288 has undertaken the expansion of the Mahopac WWTP, fabrication and installation of riser valve control equipment for shafts of the Delaware aqueduct; the extension of sewers in the village of Tannersville; the landscaping at Kensico reservoir; and the construction/reconstruction of other ancillary facilities currently in the facility planning and design stages. These miscellaneous projects in the Watershed Area are needed to ensure protection of the City’s water supply. 

Under WSHD-I, CM work has included improvements to the Port Jervis WWTP, rehabilitation to Schoharie Reservoir roadways, safety improvements at the Grahamsville and Margaretville WWTP and other miscellaneous projects throughout the watershed. 

The Construction Management Services performed included: Project Management; Resident Engineering Inspection; Administrative and technical assistance to the NYCDEP and to the client agency, the Bureau of Water Supply. 

Under WSHD-II, work included Road Rehabilitation, Pump Station Upgrade, Tunnel Dredging, Sewer Extension, Wastewater Collection System Rehabilitation and other various work. 

Project included various tasks: 

  • Review, management and monitoring of construction schedules 
  • Maintenance of project documentation 
  • Resident engineering inspection services 
  • Supervision and inspection of work (including the removal of hazardous materials) 
  • Preparation of field change orders 
  • Processing contractor payments 
  • Preparation of delay analyses and claim reports 

As a part of the Construction Management Services team, led by Dvirka and Bartilucci of Woodbury, New York, Techno had provided Construction Management Services during the construction phase of the project.
