NYCDEP Construction Management Services Oakwood Beach WRRF Power Distribution Improvements

Techno Consult, Inc (Techno) is providing a full range of Construction Management services for this contract that consists of Electrical Distribution System Upgrades throughout the
Oakwood Beach Wastewater Resource Recovery Facility ( WRRF). Techno as the prime consultant is responsible for overseeing the construction management services for the demolition, relocation, and replacement of the Motor Control Centers, demolition and replacement of the primary 5KV circuit breakers , installation of 5KV Switchgears, circuit breakers, and new power feeders. Additionally, Techno will be in charge of installing the distribution board, transformers, and panel boards throughout the Oakwood Beach project. Our responsibilities also include installation of the Main Sewage Pump Control Board, Process Meter Control Board, Master Blower Control Panel, Mimic Blower Control Panel,
and Remote Input/Output Panels.

Contract OB-134-CM will implement improvements to the Oakwood Beach Wastewater Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF) power distribution system. The DEP owns and manages the Oakwood Beach WRRF on Staten Island, which is located at 751 Mill Road. The facility has an allowed capacity of 39.9 million gallons per day and serves a population of about 240,000 people across an area of drainage of 10,779 acres. The infrastructure and equipment that have been in use for more than 40 years require restoration and replacement. Through the installation, replacement and relocation of switchgears, transformers, Motor Control Centers, Distribution Boards, control panels, and installation of a new electrical room, the project aims to improve the dependability and robustness of power distribution and performance.
