NYCDDC Multi-Site Pedestrian Safety Improvements in Manhattan
Techno is providing Resident Engineering and Inspection (REI) Services for NY-CDDC on this $ 10 million federally funded multi-site pedestrian safety improve-ments project. The REI responsibilities will include, coordinating and managing a total of (9) work locations- (4) locations in Manhattan, (4) locations in Brooklyn and (1) location in Staten Island.
The major construction of this project include:
- Reconstruction of 7 existing Bus Stations, including Sidewalk Bump Outs and Neckdowns Corners, New Sewer Catch Basins and Manholes.
- Installation of new 100LF of 6” water mains, 600LF of 8” water mains, 410LF of 12” water mains and 405 LF of 20” water mains at designated locations, including New Valves and Fire Hydrants, Street Lighting and Traffic Signal work.
The construction work also includes 6,150 Cubic Yards of Unclassified Excavation, 2500 Cubic Yards of Concrete Base, 26,000 Square Yards SY of Asphalt Concrete Wearing Course, 4850 LF of Steel Faced Concrete Curb, 63,000 SF of Reinforced Concrete Sidewalk and 20 Type 1 Catch Basins.
Providing Resident Engineering Inspection Services, Techno staff prepared the following to track progress:
- Prepared field cards
- Prepared In-service sheets, tap cards, and quantity estimates, and submission of payments in PIMS
- Prepared change orders and cost overruns for various aspects of the projects
- Ensured timely actions for all activities
- Attended project progress meeting and documenting the meeting minutes
- Maintained submission log for all correspondence from NYCDDC & Contractor
