NJSCC Victor Mravlag School No. 21

New Jersey School Construction Corporation, New Jersey has undertaken the task of Construction and expansion of Victor Mravlag Elementary School #21. The existing school is located at the trisection of Harding Road, Shelley Avenue and Harding Road.  The project comprises of Renovation and Additions of Elementary School in Elizabeth, New Jersey. The gross area of the proposed Renovation of the Existing Building is 34,400 SF, and 80,000 SF of New Additions.

Victor Mravlag Elementary School

The project comprises of asbestos abatement, demolition of existing school building, restoration of the building facing Shelley Avenue and additions of New Building. The proposed Building Project is a 1 Story Building with a partial Second and Third Floors. The methods of construction is concrete slab on grade, steel frame and load bearing concrete masonry walls, brick veneer and concrete masonry cavity walls, concrete masonry interior walls, a  combination of  a  concrete  slab  and  steel deck on steel joist, and concrete plank floor construction. The construction utilizes a combination of a membrane roofing system on steel deck and joists and a standing seam metal roof with rigid insulation. The building is equipped with an automatic sprinkler system throughout.

The proposed building has been broken into four distinctive areas A, B, C, and D for construction phasing and drawing clarification purposes. The first floor includes a kitchen, cafetorium, music rooms, administrative suites, Pre-K classrooms, and gymnasium. The second floor houses Science & Tech Labs, Classrooms, Media Center, Gang Bathroom, and MEP Rooms.
