NJSCC Irvington School District Upgrades an Renovations at Various Schools
The State of New Jersey has undertaken a great task of bringing under-rep-resented school districts in the State in par with affluent school districts. The New Jersey School Construction Corporation has divided the State into different regions and has selected Project Management Firms with extensive experience to provide Construction Management Services on the multi-billion construction program. The Princeton Office of Bovis Lend has been selected as the Project Management Firm in Region 9, which comprises the construction of schools in Irvington, Hoboken and Harrison School Districts.
The projects in Irvington District included construction of Mount Vernon Elementary School, Renovation of University Six Middle School, and Additions to Augusta Kindergarten School. The 84,000 SF Mount Vernon School is a new construction with three (3) floors and Pent House, and had an estimated cost of $17 million. The work in Augusta included demolition of a part of the existing structure and construction of a new building at a cost of $9.0 million. Whereas, the work at University Six included renovation and rehabilitation of the existing building at an estimated cost of $15 million.
