Nassau County DPW Glen Cove WWTP – Sludge Dewatering Improvements

Techno is working as a subconsultant to LiRo providing Mechanical Inspection Services. The work to be performed under this contract consists of improvements to the sludge dewatering facilities at the plant. This involved the removal of two (2) existing dissolved air flotation thickeners,  two (2) new belt filter presses, modifications and upgrades to the dissolved air flotation thickener building, and the replacement of equipment (sludge feed pumps, sludge grinder, sludge cake conveyors, and the polymer feed system) within the dewatering process.

Techno’s scope of work is as follows:  

• Identify upcoming work and coordinate CPM Schedules 
• Review contract requirements, submittals, shop drawings
• Inspect work and verify conformance with contract documents, approved change orders, shop drawings, ect.
• Conduct daily on-site inspections, document observations and progress and prepare daily reports
• Assess and monitor work progress and project schedules and deadlines
• Report safety hazard and unsafe working conditions to the designated Site Safety Officer, Contractor PM, or the Resident Engineer
• Offer recommendations to improve project site and safe working conditions
