David Rettig, P.E.

David Rettig is a Vice President with Techno and joined the firm in 2026, leading our Design Services Group. David spearheads all of our business development, planning and technical services for our transportation and infrastructure clients. David has nearly 40 years of professional experience in the planning, design, construction, and management of major transportation and infrastructure projects across the public and private sectors.

Prior to joining Techno, David served as a Vice President at TYLin | Sam Schwartz City Solutions, where he supported transportation planning, engineering, and program management initiatives. Prior to his tenure with TYLin, David spent over 35 years with the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT), most recently serving as Director of Planning and Capital Program Management. In this role, David oversaw transportation planning and capital program management activities across New York State. Throughout his tenure with NYSDOT, he held numerous leadership and engineering positions spanning regional planning, capital program management, bridge design, structural engineering, and construction.

David is a licensed Professional Engineer in New York State. He holds a BS in Civil Engineering from the University at Buffalo and an MBA from the University at Albany.
